Picnic on the Silver Comet

Silver Comet Trail

A hot 90+ degree Georgia summer day, and we took our bikes to the Silver Comet Trail.  A fabulous, mostly flat bike trail that starts west of Atlanta and runs all the way to the Alabama state border.

We brought a cooler and had picnic sandwiches before heading out on our bikes -- 11.4 miles out, 11.4 miles back.  It was too hot only when we stopped, otherwise it felt great.  And we smartly parked our car near a bike rental shop (used their air pump for a flat tire) and gas station where we bought Good Humor ice creams at the end of our 22.8 mile trek!

Dinner was like an episode of a Food Network TV show -- started off intending to make just one dish (Tilapia with coconut curry sauce) but kept adding more and more dishes (glass noodles, pork chops, salad with homemade dressing).  Fabulous dinner.

Lunch before bike ride

Exactly 1 hour into the ride. Our return route was much faster!

Man biking with his dog!
