Spice Market

We had a $25 Groupon for the Spice Market, a restaurant in the W hotel, that I've been to only once before when my friend Saujin was in town. We were really impressed and surprised by the really creative flavors and dishes.

I took a picture of our dinner when it arrived at the table. I think the waitress thought I was retarded. But oh well.

Spicy Shanghai Noodles with Chilled Silken Tofu Garlic and Herbs
and
Cod with Malaysian Chili Sauce Thai Basil

We made a mental note to remember Thai Chili sauce (sweet and hot peppery) with fish for cooking at home.  The noodles were in a thick, rich broth, almost like a congee.
(Note the Hitachino Japanese beer in the picture!)
